Nadia Kramer. Kitchen design ideas. July 30th , 2018.
The first thing I did was to look for some place in my kitchen where I could install a little storage rack. I found a little poorly-designed corner in the kitchen. I didn't want to take that counter space up though; I hung a four-tier rack from the ceiling with hooks. In the rack, I stock my glasses, my coffee mugs, a few articles of canned food, potatoes and onions. I have always been a believer in how pots and pans, tea cups and coffee mugs, anything within an ear or a handle, belongs on a hook. I knew that if I began to stock my pots and pans and the meager shelf space I had (all 6 feet of them), I would end up with no space for anything else. So everything that could be hung was hung on the wall. I got loads of those little hooks that are set in to a plastic backing and double-sided tape. I hung these all over the kitchen walls and all my pots and pans were right away off my hands.
Cooks all over the world thrive in a well-equipped kitchen. Having a well designed, high functioning kitchen helps to open the door to new culinary possibilities; having the idea is one thing, the means to bring the idea into fruition is best. Here are a few kitchen design ideas centered on a cook-friendly environment.
Go for double rows of cabinetry to maximize storage space. You can either go for two rows of storage under the counter top or have a lower cabinetry and a hanging cabinetry above the cooking space but on the same wall.
